REGARDING ALTHEIM FUND PROJECT

The White House Office of the Senior Advisor for Public Engagement hosted a listening session with members of the Nebraska Legislative Delegation this week on topics related to President Obama’s selection of the Solicitor General as a Supreme Court Justice. During the session, the President articulated a number of policy priorities outlined in his second inaugural address, including protecting and expanding access to women’s reproductive health care.

Also discussed at the session were the Merrick Garland nomination process, the right to birth control, and women’s reproductive health care access as a matter of state sovereignty. Following the session, as part of his effort to engage with state lawmakers and hold people accountable, the President pledged his continued support for their efforts to protect reproductive health care.

SENATE MAJORITY Leader McConnell, R-KY, of the Senate Judiciary Committee, requested that the White House allow for additional time to review the candidates chosen by the President for nomination to the Supreme Court.
