Travis Scott turned down the $25,000 he offered the family of Kyle Petty who died in a stabbings

Rapper Travis Scott paid out $25,000 to the family of 9-year-old Kyle Petty — the tragic victim of a stabbing in April — but the family declined his offer to cover the funeral costs, according to TMZ. As previously reported, Kyle Petty died of massive blood loss after sustaining stab wounds to his chest and abdomen.

Family members have said that they declined Scott’s offer to pay funeral costs, in part because of his recent brand controversy, which included him co-signing racist comments by Kanye West at a concert. Petty’s family also were reportedly upset at Scott for choosing to end Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy announcement with a cover image of him kissing little Stormi Webster.

TMZ claims that Petty’s mother also said that the rapper doesn’t have many friends in their town, so she doesn’t think he’s going to be a fitting companion for the future.
