Dr. Oz calls for people to ‘never surrender on their values,’ says ‘the definition of fascism is government oppression’

“Values are under attack,” said Dr. Mehmet Oz, host of “The Dr. Oz Show,” at the Bushnell Tower at 45th Street and Sixth Avenue in Philadelphia as he promoted his book “Cures: Everything You Always Wanted to Know about Natural and Scientific Remedies.”

“The definition of fascism is government oppression, government power and people doing their best to manage the government. That’s the definition of fascism. And I am going to not let this happen in Pennsylvania,” said Dr. Oz.

He added, “Because I live here. I have a home here.”

The Oz, who met his wife, Lynn, here, also took the opportunity to comment on the recent debate between Elizabeth Warren and U.S. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., over whether one should lie about one’s military service or not.

“I will tell you what is offensive,” said Dr. Oz. “Lying about who you are as a person. Talking about your service, what’s you did as a service, your service is your personal business.”

Dr. Oz encouraged people not to “go down the road of calling politicians untrustworthy” and “anytime you are calling one person untrustworthy or liar, you are looking to undermine that person.”

Dr. Oz also praised Warren for her opposition to Brett Kavanaugh for his confirmation to the Supreme Court and for her work with the American Civil Liberties Union.

The decision for Warren to show her birth certificate is becoming a heated issue in the wake of her feud with Gillibrand.

Dr. Oz also addressed Colorado Rep. Mike Coffman’s decision to run for U.S. Senate after winning re-election by 7 percentage points in 2018.
